Sheri is one of my May brides and since she lives out of town and we won't be able to schedule an engagement session I attended her bridal shower to take some pictures there. I was so surprised and happy about the Disney theme! Her maid of honor did an amazing job of putting together all of the Minnie Mouse touches!

Read MoreI grew up across the street from Dan & Becky...their family is like a second family to me. They were both in the Navy and Dan graduated from the Naval Academy. I was so excited when they asked me to go to the Army Navy game with them and their family. Everyone was coming together from Seattle, Chicago, Virginia Beach, and DC. We walked the campus of the Naval Academy, tailgated at Camden Yards (Go Orioles!), watched the Army Navy game at Ravens Stadium, and had a couple fantastic family dinners!!

They also used this night of celebration to present The Up Center with a whopping 7,000-8,000 books!!!

Read MoreAugust 6, 2011 was a very dark day for a lot of people. 30 military servicemen and 1 military working dog were killed in action when Extortion 17, a Chinook helicopter, was downed in Afghanistan. Many of those men were part of the SEAL community. As many of you know, Hampton Roads has a huge SEAL presence. A very good friend of mine has been helping to head up the Extortion 17 Memorial Ride for the past 2 years. When I spoke to her about needing a photographer she immediately said 'YES!' This cause is so close to my heart...so many of our friends are a part of the SEAL community in some way. I was so moved all day long by the overwhelming support and patriotism that the people of this area exudes.
