We could not have had better weather for this session! It wasn't too hot, it wasn't too windy, the sun was out...it was perfect! Just like these two! Take a look for yourself!
Read MoreLittle Dude wasn't feeling so great this past week so we didn't take a whole lot of pictures but we took advantage of the warmer weather yesterday morning before it rained. Morgan wasn't so thrilled about the idea!!
Read MoreLast week I had my camera out to take some before pictures of a few projects (more to come on that in future posts!) and of course, little dude needed to take some pictures as well. So that got me thinking...why not start really teaching him?! And of course...blog and document it along the way!!
So this is the first installment! Noah took these of me and the girl. The sun had already set so we did this impromptu shoot in the house. In the future we'll go on walks and to the park and to the beach. I'm going to post all of his pictures...even the ones that are out of focus. I can't wait to see the world from his perspective!
Read MoreI've written about this group of guys before. I just can't say enough about them. They're using their influence in the community to do great things for non-profit organizations throughout Hampton Roads. This past Saturday was the Beach Ambassadors' 1 year anniversary party. They also used this night of celebration to present The Up Center with a whopping 7,000-8,000 books!!!
Read MoreSharon Elizabeth is one of the photographers I've been following since I decided I wanted to make this a career (a good year before I was actually able to). Haven't seen her work? Check out her Facebook and Website. Her work is just amazing. A few of my fellow photog friends participated in Sharon's shoot out last spring. When I saw their pictures and Sharon's post about it I knew I just had to get in on the next one. So I emailed her and she told me to keep an eye out because she would be hosting another one in the fall. So I did. As soon as I saw her post for it I asked my bestie, Heather of Heather Papineau Photography, if she wanted to go with me. And so began a beautiful friendship ;)
Read MoreSean and I basically grew up together and I've known Laura for a number of years now, too. I was ecstatic to hear that they were expecting their first bambino!! I was also excited to find out they were doing a gender reveal party...of course I'll be there with my camera!!!
Read MoreGah! This family! I just love them so much!! Heather is one of my best friends and a fellow photographer so I was honored when she asked me to take her family pictures! Little Jack gave us a run for our money but I still managed to get a bunch of gorgeous shots of this gorgeous family!!
Read MoreMike and I basically grew up together...our dads have known each other since they were 2! I feel like I've known Amy for just as long! They came down this weekend to visit family and asked me to take family pictures of them and they freaking adorable daughter, Harper. (PS it's super cute when Amy calls her Harper Annie!!!) This morning was perfect!! We went to Sandbridge at sunrise and couldn't have asked for better weather! Love you guys!! Enjoy!
Read MoreLittle Finn came into this world earlier than we all expected but we're so so thrilled to have him here!! I was throwing Amanda and Francois a co-ed baby shower along with one of Amanda's friend...the shower was on August 24th, a month before Finn was supposed to make his entrance. So imagine our surprise when we got the call saying the doctors weren't going to release Amanda from a scheduled appointment because little Finn needed to arrive NOW!! So we cleaned up the baby shower, packed the gifts in the car and headed to the hospital. As we walked into the maternity ward we heard the lullaby play that signals a birth and found out a minute later that it was for our Finn! He had a bit of a rough start but he's home and doing well!! The first couple pictures are of the baby shower decorations, the second group is from the first time Amanda was able to see and touch her baby boy! The last group was a lifestyle session we did at their house the week that Finn came home! Enjoy!!
Read MoreHeather is one of my closest friends and our sons are going to be best friends!! Her son, Jack just turned 2 (my dude isn't far behind!)! Enjoy the backyard birthday bash!!
Read MoreEmily is such a good friend of mine! Her and her boys were my very first photo session when I decided I wanted to make a business out of Photography. That was last August! I've come such a long way since then! We've decided to make this family shoot an annual thing! We added someone else to the mix this year...Tim kept coming up with great pose ideas and he was able to get these 2 rowdy boys (whom I LOVE!!) to almost cooperate!! haha Emmy knows I love them!!! Maybe next August we'll be adding someone else to the mix?!
Read MoreAugust 6, 2011 was a very dark day for a lot of people. 30 military servicemen and 1 military working dog were killed in action when Extortion 17, a Chinook helicopter, was downed in Afghanistan. Many of those men were part of the SEAL community. As many of you know, Hampton Roads has a huge SEAL presence. A very good friend of mine has been helping to head up the Extortion 17 Memorial Ride for the past 2 years. When I spoke to her about needing a photographer she immediately said 'YES!' This cause is so close to my heart...so many of our friends are a part of the SEAL community in some way. I was so moved all day long by the overwhelming support and patriotism that the people of this area exudes.
Read MoreIf you read my previous blog post, HERE, you know that I branched out a couple of weekends ago into something that was foreign to me. I was asked to photograph a couple of bands at a local venue. I reluctantly agreed; I had no idea how concert photography was going to compare to the natural light photography I'm so use to. I had a BLAST!! And the pictures came out better than I expected! The headlining band that night was Like A Storm.
Read MoreA few weeks ago I decided to try my hand at something new. A friend of mine asked me if I'd be interested in photographing 2 bands at a local bar. I admit, I was a bit reluctant at first. Indoor lighting, not to mention concert lighting, is so far from the natural light photography that I normally do. I did some research for camera settings and jumped in. The results were so much better than I could've ever hoped!
